The Trade Execution Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating and monitoring the islandwide Merchandising team to ensure excellent in-store execution, product visibility, planogram compliance, promotional implementation, trade reporting and customer support across merchandised outlets. The role ensures that merchandising activities are aligned with brand, sales and commercial objectives, while supporting sales target achievement through effective manning, route coverage, trade audits, competitive monitoring, gondola and equipment execution, and timely escalation of out-of-stock or execution gaps.

Minimum Requirements:

  • First Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management Studies or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in sales, trade marketing, merchandising, within FMCG environment.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising field-based teams, preferably across multiple locations or routes.

  • Experience preparing trade reports, managing execution trackers, monitoring budgets and supporting commercial performance targets.

Specific Knowledge Required:

  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of trade marketing, merchandising strategies and in-store execution standards.

  • Sound knowledge of the Company’s products, brand priorities, strategic marketing goals and commercial objectives.

  • Sound knowledge of planograms, shelf-edge execution, point-of-purchase material, gondola placements, equipment requests and trade promotional activity.

  • Insight into shopper behavior, retail outlet execution requirements and customer service expectations in the trade.

  • Working knowledge of merchandising coverage reports, attendance/route scheduling, payroll inputs and budget tracking.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the islandwide Merchandising team in the execution of brand, trade, promotional and merchandising activities in line with agreed commercial and marketing strategies.

  • Manages route coverage, outlet manning, attendance tracking, vacation scheduling, day-off planning and deployment of Merchandisers

  • Monitors planogram compliance, shelf-edge execution, POP material placement, pricing visibility, Gondola execution, Equipment placement and overall in-store presentation.

  • Supports sales target achievement by ensuring merchandised outlets are manned on time and in full, and by escalating out-of-stock, pricing, execution or service issues to Sales and Commercial Management for immediate remedy.

  • Conducts regular trade visits and formal trade audits islandwide, to assess execution standards, outlet needs and improvement opportunities.

  • Prepares and circulates monthly trade execution reports covering sales support, manning, planogram compliance, competitive activity, NPI launch execution, equipment requests, gondola spend and key trade observations.

  • Develops competitor intelligence and trade information capabilities and ensures timely dissemination of relevant insights to Commercial, Sales and Marketing stakeholders.

  • Coordinates the implementation of merchandising materials and trade execution programmes that support brand awareness, product visibility, new product launches and agreed cycle plans.

  • Liaises with Key Accounts, Area Managers, Zone Sales Managers, Brand Teams and outlet owners/managers to plan, execute and review in-store activities and promotional programmes.

  • Manages merchandising-related costs and expenses within approved trade marketing or commercial execution budgets, including gondola payments, equipment requests and field execution support.

  • Completes and submits required payroll, HR, attendance, route and administrative information for the Merchandising team accurately and on time.

  • Coaches, guides and supports Merchandisers to improve execution quality, punctuality, accountability, customer service and adherence to company standards.

  • Performs any other related duties based on scope of role, department needs or as assigned by Commercial Management.

Performance Criteria:

This job is satisfactorily performed when:

  • Merchandised outlets are manned on time and in full, with route coverage and attendance issues identified and escalated promptly.

  • Assigned sales targets for merchandised outlets are supported through effective execution, visibility, availability and timely out-of-stock escalation.

  • Planograms, shelf edges, pricing, POP material, gondolas and equipment placements are executed and maintained according to agreed brand and trade standards.

  • New product launches and brand campaigns are executed in merchandised outlets within agreed timelines.

  • Trade audits and field visits are completed across assigned areas and documented with clear findings, actions and follow-up owners.

  • Weekly and monthly reports are accurate, timely, informative and supported by execution evidence from the trade.

  • Merchandising programmes, competitive updates, trade insights and execution improvement plans are developed, implemented and monitored.

  • Merchandising payroll, HR, attendance and route administration information is submitted accurately and on time.

  • Effective working relationships are developed and sustained with Merchandisers, Sales teams, Marketing teams, outlet owners/managers and other key stakeholders.

Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

  • Frequent islandwide travel is required to conduct trade visits, verify store coverage, monitor merchandising execution and meet with customers or outlet representatives.

  • May be required to work outside normal working hours to support promotional activities, NPI launches, audits, special projects or urgent trade execution needs.
