Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the successful candidate:

  • Ensures that all maintenance activities are scheduled, resourced and executed efficiently to minimize machinery downtime and maximize asset reliability and plant/facility upkeep.

  • Generates weekly and annual maintenance plans for the Maintenance Department and the Grounds Team.

  • Coordinates between departments to ensure that all planned maintenance can be carried out safely and within a reasonable time frame.

  • Assists with the assignment of planned work of all technicians and ensures that it is carried out to schedule.

  • Prepares inventory, monthly usage, costing, Trend analysis for targeted areas and weekly non-productive machine reports.

  • Follows up on all on-going jobs in progress to ensure the availability of parts, and monitors the completion time.

  • Provides technical support as required.

  • Ensures that all machine spares are accurate and available and that all stock counts are accurate and are updated monthly.

  • Purchases all machines and general spares and collects local spares.

  • Performs other related duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ordinary Technical Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Proficiency in computer skills - Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Approved training in production management, maintenance management or related areas.

  • At least two years in a production environment.
