Job Title**: Maintenance and Engineering Manager**

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programmes to ensure the Company's plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and performance.

The successful candidate will also plan, direct, and oversee the execution of engineering and maintenance projects, ensuring that all projects are completed safely, on schedule, within specifications, and in accordance with the Company's quality, reliability, and operational objectives.                                                                                                                                    

Qualifications and Experience:

•   First Degree or equivalent accreditation in an appropriate engineering discipline.

•   Five (5) years post qualification experience in a similar or related function.

Specific Knowledge (however acquired) Required to Start:

•   Sound knowledge of electromechanical engineering and maintenance.

•   Sound knowledge of related statutory, industry and regulatory practices and procedures.

Required Skills and Specialised Techniques:

•   Well developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

•   Ability to manage in a unionized environment.

•   Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement.

Special Conditions Associated With the job:

•   Exposure to noise from machinery.

•   Exposure to dust from production.

•   Experience occasional tight deadline.

Responsibilities and Duties:

•       Ensures the implementation of established preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and schedules.

•       Ensures that corrective maintenance standards, procedures and specifications are achieved.

•       Monitors the work of external contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and contractual terms.

•       Assesses the effectiveness of existing maintenance programmes and recommends adjustments as required.

•       Determines capital investment requirements to sustain desired reliability levels, develops relevant proposals and manages approved projects.

•       Prepares engineering reports and studies required by the job function.

•       Prepares and administers technical expense budget.

•    Provides technical advice and guidance to subordinates so as to maintain effective levels of productivity.

•    Ensures that subordinates comply with established disciplinary, attendance and punctuality standards..

•    Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all HVAC units and Utilities in the Plant
