About the role

One of the companies in our AdTech network is looking for a Backend Engineer – Data Platforms to help build and maintain the core systems that support engineering teams and power high-performance applications.

In this role, you’ll work on backend infrastructure, internal tools, and shared systems that improve developer productivity and support scalable software development. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance development workflows, optimize system performance, and build reusable components used across multiple services.

This position is well suited for engineers who enjoy working on platform infrastructure, developer tooling, and scalable backend architectures.

What you’ll do

• Lead initiatives that improve developer productivity across the engineering environment.

• Design and maintain internal tools, shared libraries, and reusable components.

• Optimize build systems and development workflows to ensure reliable CI pipelines.

• Contribute to the design and evolution of backend platform architecture.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications and services.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve development experience and system reliability.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience working within the JavaScript ecosystem, including TypeScript, Node.js, and modern build or bundling tools.

• Experience building developer tools, internal libraries, or engineering infrastructure.

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality production code.

• Experience identifying and solving performance issues in complex systems.

• Familiarity with monorepo environments and microservices architectures.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of technical initiatives.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or a related role.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Vercel ecosystem, such as Next.js or Turborepo.

• Experience deploying or managing applications using Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or flame graphs.

• Experience working with GitHub Actions for CI/CD workflows.
