Summary of Position:
This position is a transitionary in nature, where the candidate will be required to train for a Chargehand post for the duration of 1.5 to 2 years. During this time, he/she will be required to assist the Production Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Department, ensuring the achievement of production targets on assigned shifts in the most cost-effective manner.
Principal Accountabilities / Key Functions:
Assist with the assignment of work to production personnel in accordance with the production plans and assist with monitoring the execution of work to ensure that production targets are achieved.
Assist with set up, checks, inspections and monitoring of the operation of Company plant and equipment to ensure that production targets can be achieved.
Assist with ensuring the availability of manpower, materials and equipment required for all assigned plant operations and functions.
Assist with reporting of issues with materials and equipment to the Supervisor/Manager or relevant Department lead.
Assist with investigations in all production related operating complaints and report to relevant persons.
Assist with carrying out line inspections on process control methods to ensure operational compliance with approved procedures.
Assist with the preparation of required reports and records in accordance with approved procedures.
Assist with the receipt of employee complaints/ grievances and assist with the recommendation of corrective action or escalate to relevant parties as required.
Assist with ensuring that subordinates comply with established plant and factory rules, regulations and practices in the absence of the Supervisor including: monitoring timekeeping, absenteeism, failure to clock-in, etc.
Identify and report real and potential issues and non-conformances and suggest possible solutions.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s established good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Food Safety and Quality requirements by self and subordinates.
Actively promote, support and comply with Kiss Baking Company Limited’s established Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and industry best practices;
Performs any other job-related duties as required by the job function.
Required Technical Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Minimum
§ Minimum of 5 CXC Passes including English, Mathematics.
Pre-requisites/requirements:
Minimum
§ Good time & attendance record
§ Must complete assigned courses on the LMS system
§ Must attend in-house classes when required
Experience:
Minimum
§ At least two (2) years’ experience in a Manufacturing/Plant environment.
§ Must have experience working in a shift environment
§ Supervisory experience will be considered an asset
