Job Summary

Provides support to the business in all HR areas and is responsible for coordinating the employee life cycle from recruitment to separation. Executes day-to-day operational support geared towards assisting in the achievement of the HR objectives throughout the Company.

 Principal duties and Responsibilities

  •  Fill all open positions in accordance with the time-to-fill metrics and recruitment procedures, to ensure the right candidates are selected, and the onboarding process is executed to maintain a positive new employee experience.

  • Coordinate and execute the staff movement process in accordance with established procedures including transfer, promotions and exits.

  • Support with the medical case management process as it relates to monitoring and processing long term/extended sick leave, return to work from injuries, medical boarding process, and workmen’s compensation.

  • Support and drive the performance management processes including but not limited to the administration of the performance management, performance improvement and probationary review processes.

  • Control the inventory of all Job Descriptions and provide support with the job evaluation process.

  • Assess company-wide training needs, execute the training plan, develop and deliver training, and evaluate for return on investment in accordance to the learning and development policy and procedures.

  • Coordinate all benefits administration as it relates to the company’s medical and pension plans, as well as administration of leave, loan application, and supplemental sick leave processes as per established processes and policy. This includes communication of benefits to employees.

  • Coordinates the company’s disciplinary process from investigation to outcome, ensuring compliance to the company’s policies and collective agreement, as well as ensuring all matters and meetings with the union are executed.

  • Support in building employee engagement through the execution of the Annual Engagement plan/budget, long service awards, reward and recognition programmes and other initiatives. This includes the administration of all employee engagement surveys.

  • Prepares and maintains employee physical files and HRIS system, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.

  • Tracks HR Metrics for assigned areas and complete HR Reports within the stipulated time frame.

  • Comply and promote the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Food Safety and other company policies established by the Company. 

  • Maintain inventory and communication of all HR Policies and assist with the review and update of HR policies.

General Requirements

  • BSc. Degree in Management, with a focus on Human Resource Management or other related discipline.

  • Certificate in Industrial Relations would be considered an asset.

  • At least three (3) years working experience.

  • Excellent verbal, written and problem-solving skills required

  • Conflict Management and Mediation skills

  • Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)

  • Knowledge of employment laws, industrial relations, OSHA and other related legislation

  • Excellent time-management, planning and organizational skills

  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of office administration procedures.
