Supervise and lead a team of production workers, ensuring that production, quality and scrap targets are met, while adhering to and enforcing all safety protocols and company policies and procedures.
Principal duties and Responsibilities
Supervises staff, monitor, optimize and standardize workflows, ensuring that products are manufactured and delivered to Finished Goods, according to the production schedule, on time and in full, at the required quality with minimal scrap and downtime
Updates production data, completes and disseminates (as required) shift reports according to department procedures
Organizes and schedule shift resources (labour, raw materials, tools etc.) and account for and minimize variances
Oversees, controls and optimizes all change overs
Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, providing feedback, listening, managing conflict, building teamwork and disciplining
Initiates, optimizes and enforces applicable systems, policies, and procedures.
Liaises with, and supports maintenance personnel, as required, in troubleshooting equipment faults to minimize downtime
Work with Quality Control inspectors to ensure the goods produced conform to manufacturing specifications investigate process non-conformances to provide feedback, and support with root cause and preventive action.
Ensures that employees have the required resources - knowledge, tools and equipment, to perform the assigned task.
Monitors timekeeping, punctuality, absenteeism, and sundry deviances of employees.
Monitors overtime with the guidelines.
Takes responsibility for development and successfully completes assigned training in timely manner.
Ensure all employees comply with the Health and Safety and Food Safety guidelines in accordance with established policies.
Key Deliverables
Maximized output and minimized scrap and quality defects on all lines.
Scheduled and on time startup of production lines.
Preparation of relevant reports.
Supervision of subordinates to ensure compliance with all factory rules and regulations including HSE and Food Safety guidelines.
Effective and efficient, preparation for and handover to the incoming shift.
General Requirements
Degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Food Science, Chemistry, Management, Engineering or related field would be an asset
Certificate in Supervisory Management or previous experience at a supervisory level;
Five (5) O' level qualifications inclusive of Mathematics and English Language
Related Certification pertaining to the manufacturing industry
Five (5) years' experience in the Manufacturing industry with a minimum of two (2) years at the supervisory level
Any relevant combination of experience and training will be considered
