Kiss Baking Company (Jamaica) is seeking to recruit a Junior Electrician to assist in maintaining the electrical and electronic components of the company’s machinery, equipment, and facilities. The successful candidate will support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to help maximize production efficiency and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with troubleshooting and carrying out corrective and preventive electrical maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and facilities.
Supporting routine inspections of standby generators, including battery, fuel and cooling system checks.
Assisting in identifying equipment faults and contributing to root cause analysis under supervision.
Repairing and installing lighting fixtures within factory and office buildings, including security lighting.
Assisting with installation and maintenance of auxiliary equipment such as air conditioning units, refrigerators, fans, and hoists.
Supporting installation and repair of electrical circuits as required.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
Specific Knowledge & Competency Requirements:
Basic knowledge of JS21 (Electrical Regulations).
Foundational understanding of electrical/electronic principles.
Basic knowledge of PLC systems (troubleshooting exposure would be an asset).
Understanding of general machinery and equipment repair techniques.
Awareness of electrical safety practices.
Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Required Qualification & Experience:
Diploma or certificate in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
At least one (3-6) months experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (internship or apprenticeship experience will be considered).
